授業概要 |
本授業は、近年増加している「調査を用いたアート（Research-Based Art）」と「アートを用いた調査（Art-Based Research）」の交錯点を、外部のゲスト講師によるさまざまな取り組みの実例を学ぶとともに、受講者自身も特定のテーマに沿ってその実践の実習を行います。特に社会学、文化人類学、文化研究、メディア研究、アーカイヴ研究などの理論と調査をベースにしながら、都市やエコロジー、福祉や教育、テクノロジーや医療などのテーマに視聴覚、映像メディア、展示を用いた調査やその成果の発表について学習します。 |

到達目標・カリキュラム上の位置付け |
「調査を用いたアート（Research-Based Art）」と「アートを用いた調査（Art-Based Research）」の事例について理解を深め、特定のテーマを設定した調査を行い、その発表を行うことが具体的な成果として求められます。
本授業を通して、今日のアートにおいて調査という過程がいかに重要な要素となっているかについて理解を深め、また自身の創作活動と調査の関係を見直し、発展することを期待します。 |

授業計画・内容 |
本授業は、前期の第1回〜第7回がオンラインでの講義、後期の第8回以降が有楽町にあるアートスペース「YAU」（有楽町アートアーバニズム）での対面の演習を実施する予定です。演習の内容や実際の活動内容については、各回担当の講師によって異なります。詳細は以下の授業計画をご覧ください。

In this class, participants will learn about the intersection of "Research-Based Art" and "Art-Based Research," both of which have been on the rise in recent years, through various examples of approaches by outside guest lecturers. In addition, participants will also practice their own approaches based on specific themes. In particular, based on theories and investigations in sociology, cultural anthropology, cultural studies, media studies, and archival research, students will learn about the methods of research and presentation by using audiovisual and visual media and exhibitions on themes such as cities, ecology, welfare, education, technology, and medicine. |

Students are expected to deepen their understanding of examples of "Research-Based Art" and "Art-Based Research," conduct research on a specific theme, and present their research as a specific outcome of the class.
Through this class, students are expected to deepen their understanding of how the process of research is an important element in today's art, and to review and develop the relationship between their own creative activities and research. |

In this class, students will learn about recent art and research and their intersections. In the first semester, the course will be a joint class with "Introduction to Creative Archives". And in the second semester, students will have the opportunity to learn the methodology in more depth through actual research and workshops with the instructor on specific issues. |
